The Twenty-Four Bridges is a significant attraction within Slender West Lake. The original bridge from history no longer exists; what is seen today is a reconstructed version. The name of the bridge is derived from a verse by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu, which reads ‘On the night of the full moon at Twenty-Four Bridges, where is the jade-like person teaching to play the flute?’
The Twenty-Four Bridges is a single-arch bridge with white marble railings. The bridge measures 24 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, has 24 railing columns, and 24 steps, all corresponding to the number ‘twenty-four.’ Standing at the Twenty-Four Bridges, one can see the Xi Chun Tai, with its green glazed tiles and vermilion doors and windows, which are striking yet maintain an ancient elegance. In addition to Xi Chun Tai, Wang Chun Lou and Ling Long Hua Jie are also nearby attractions of the Twenty-Four Bridges.
