Tangkou Town, located at the southern foot of the Huangshan Scenic Area, serves as the southern entrance for visitors to the scenic area. All tourists visiting the Huangshan Scenic Area enter through here. The hot springs of the Huangshan Scenic Area were historically known as ‘Tangquan,’ from which the town derives its name. The Huangshan hot spring water flows into Tangquan Stream, which converges with Xiaoyao Stream, flowing through Tangkou Town.
Various Hui-style buildings in the town are constructed along the mountains and near the water, with horse-head walls reflecting against the surrounding green mountains. The town is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day, with specific business conditions subject to the day’s opening status.
