The Zhu Family Mansion in Nanzha, Wuzhen, is a well-preserved Late Qing Dynasty architectural gem. It has withstood the test of time for over a century, witnessing the rise and fall of the Zhu family. Descendants of the Zhu family still reside in the mansion to this day. For a nominal fee of one yuan, visitors are welcomed to tour the property, where the proprietors share the history of the mansion and offer assistance in capturing the perfect photo or family portrait. According to the current owners, the Zhu family’s ‘Zhu Henry Dyeing Workshop’ was once a prominent establishment, being the second most influential household in Nanzha, Wuzhen. This adds to the mansion’s solemn and dignified character. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily operation of the site.
