A new paradigm of immersive literary experience, ‘The Great Dream: A Red Chamber’, is set to be staged in the special exhibition area of Jiangning Weaving Museum. The exhibition space is located within Jiangning Weaving Museum, where Mr. Wu Liangyuan, with the design concept of ‘The Essence of the Core Boat’, has miniatured a ‘Great Illusionary Realm’ within the ‘Legacy of the Lilac Pavilion’. The Great Dream: A Red Chamber immersive exhibition space is right at the entrance of the Great Illusionary Realm. On the site of Cao Xueqin’s birthplace, a literary feast that is dreamlike and surreal, real and illusory, is about to commence.

[Story Synopsis] The mysterious entrepreneur and collector, Mr. Cao, is obsessed with ‘Dream of the Red Chamber’ and has meticulously collected 10 museum-quality pieces related to the Red Chamber, creating the art exhibition ‘The Great Dream: A Red Chamber’. It is said that everyone who enters the museum possesses the power to bestow creation. During the appreciation process, once the device is triggered, the door to the Great Illusionary Realm will open, and you will become a dream traveler falling into the illusion to experience the joys and sorrows, embarking on a brand-new journey… You will walk side by side with Baoyu and Daiyu, searching for lost love in the Grand View Garden, and witnessing the rise and fall of the family in the Ningguo Mansion. You will become a dream traveler in the Red Chamber, exploring alone or meeting others, weaving together stories of joys and sorrows. From curiosity to intoxication, from exploration to experience, from immersion to self-forgetfulness. In every corner of the Red Chamber, find the answer to your heart.

[Exhibition Features] The exhibition pioneers a new model of ‘immersive literature’, taking the literary IP content experience as the core and immersive technology as the mainstay. Utilizing holographic imaging, virtual reality, and other technological means, it creates a cultural experience space that integrates immersive stage scenes, immersive digital light and shadow art, immersive performance interaction, and immersive leisure and entertainment. It deeply explores the contemporary value of classic literature. ‘The Great Dream: A Red Chamber’ overall creates three immersive exhibition areas, four digital scenes, ten art exhibits, twelve characters from the Red Chamber, four story lines, and twenty classic scenes. The audience will fall into the Great Illusionary Realm from a private museum of Mr. Cao and embark on a journey to explore the classic novel ‘Dream of the Red Chamber’ with a brand-new modern immersive play method, experiencing a dreamlike and surreal performance.
