The Tropic of Cancer Astronomical Plaza encompasses ten major exhibition areas, including the Nine Planets Water Play Area, Constellation Area, Tropic of Cancer Sun Pavilion, Tropic of Cancer Imaginary Line, and the Historical Marker Exhibition Area
The Tropic of Cancer Imaginary Line is demarcated by the provincial highway, with tropical and subtropical plants planted on either side, perfectly symbolizing the astronomical and geographical significance of the Tropic of Cancer
The Nine Planets Water Play Area features scaled-down models of the planets along with their information, allowing visitors to learn about the nine planets, and the adjacent water pumps are a favorite among children
The Ancient Astronomy Area is equipped with instruments such as the gnomon and the figure-eight sundial, allowing the public to observe the position of the sun using the scientific principle of shadow casting and to understand the current time through the position of the shadow, showcasing how ancient people kept track of time
The Historical Marker Exhibition Area displays commemorative markers from the first to the fifth generation, echoing the current sixth-generation landmark Sun Pavilion, witnessing the historical development of the Tropic of Cancer landmark
Sun Pavilion: The space shuttle-inspired architecture of the Sun Pavilion exudes a modern aesthetic, while the interior is themed around astronomical star charts for exhibitions
The Tropic of Cancer Sun Pavilion consists of five floors, with the first floor being the Astronomical Education Center to impart basic astronomical knowledge to the public, the second and third floors serving as astronomical classrooms, and the fifth floor dedicated to a solar-themed exhibition area, offering more insights into the universe
It also features an observation deck and a distant viewing area where visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Tropic of Cancer Astronomical Plaza
The plaza is open all year round, 24 hours a day
