There are currently two Tropic of Cancer memorials, one located in Hualien and the other in Shui-Xia Village, Chiayi County, initially constructed in the 34th year of the Guangxu period

This landmark was damaged during the Jia-Nan earthquake and was later redesigned and restored by the Chiayi Air Force Base to its current appearance
This site features only the geographical marker without any other tourist facilities
In front of the marker, there stand tall and lush dragon cypress trees, and a circular orientation device, where tourists often take photos as a memento
The site is open all year round, 24 hours a day
A must-see tip is the Tropic of Cancer Sun Museum, which serves as an astronomical education center, offering experiences with light, solar observation, DIY experience games, and various telescope displays, making it a place rich in astronomical educational significance
