Nestled on the western shore of Lake Como, Villa del Balbianello was originally a monastery founded by Cardinal Angelo. After the Cardinal’s passing, the monastery was sold, and its gardens and terraces underwent renovations. Today, it serves as a popular filming location for numerous movies, including the 2002 film ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones’. The villa is open to visitors all year round, from Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, operating between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
