Wenchang Pavilion takes advantage of its geographical location and becomes a beautiful place in Xikou Town. It is located at the southern end of Wushan Mountain and on the bank of the Shanxi River. Looking south, one can see the mountain scenery of Xianan Mountain. Looking down, one can see the three-mile-long street. With winds blowing from eight directions, it presents a magnificent scenery.
Wenchang Pavilion was first built in the ninth year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1731). Because the pavilion enshrines Kuixing, it is also known as ‘Kuige’. It is known as ‘Kuige reaching the sky’ and is one of the ten scenic spots in Xikou in the Qing Dynasty.
