Qinglan Port Scenic Area is centered around Qinglan Port, as well as nearby historical sites and attractions. It features the uniquely charming Dongjiao Coconut Forest, the historically rich Wenbi Tower, the soft-sand and calm-wave Gao Longwan Bathing Beach, and the magical and enchanting Hougang Mangrove Forest. To the northeast, more than 20 kilometers away, lies the famous Song Family Ancestral Home, and more than 10 kilometers away, there is the spectacular Tonggu Ling. To the northwest, 12 kilometers away, are the Confucius Temple and Zhang Yunyi General Memorial Hall, making it one of the top five coastal tourist destinations in Hainan.
The port area is located on the west bank of the Ba Men Bay (also known as Hou Port), with a broad water area covering 120,000 square meters. The port is characterized by calm winds and waves, and minimal siltation, making it a port with superior natural conditions. The port shore is lined with lush coconut groves. Since ancient times, Qinglan Port has been an important commercial port on the east coast of Hainan Island, known as the ‘Elbow of Qiongzhou’ and the ‘Throat of Wenchang’. The port has a history of more than 600 years, forming a small fishing and commercial port in the first year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1368), and now it has become a distribution center for water transport materials in eastern Hainan, an important hub connecting the Xisha Islands, Zhongsha Islands, and Nansha Islands.
