Starting from the front temple and touring the various scenic spots in the ‘Western Paradise’, one must pass through the Western Heavenly Gate. The so-called Western Heavenly Gate is a natural stone gateway formed by three huge rocks. The stone gateway is narrow and only allows one person to pass through by stooping. There are four characters ‘Western Paradise Realm’ inscribed on the horizontal stone above and four characters ‘Attain the Bodhi Path’ inscribed vertically. ‘Bodhi’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘enlightenment’. From here, one can ascend to Dharma Peak. Open all year round and open 24 hours a day.
