It’s weekend family outing time again. Where to go for a two-day, one-night trip? Attracted by the beautiful pictures of Shanghai Sun Island that suddenly popped up on my phone, we set off immediately. This time, we came to Shanghai Sun Island Resort Hotel in Zhujiajiao. In my inherent impression, the ancient town of Zhujiajiao is well-known. Unexpectedly, in this antique place, there is actually an island suitable for taking kids. Accommodation: Explorer Family Villa. If several families travel together, I must recommend this place, Explorer Family Villa. With white walls and wood-grained roofs and edges, it has the feeling of a Nordic cabin. Staying here is like living in a fairy tale world. In front of each villa, there are two exclusive parking spaces. If you come by car, you don’t need to worry about having no place to park or having to park far away. You can drive by yourself in the park. If you don’t want to drive, there is also a shuttle bus. As long as you make a call, it will come to pick you up! This villa is 190 square meters with a huge space. Pushing the door and entering, the huge living room is connected to the dining room. Dominated by white and wood grain colors, it appears warm and clean. The tall giraffe and deer benches add a lot of childishness to the living room. There is also a small courtyard outdoors. It is a good place for a rest, drinking tea and chatting in the afternoon or after sunset. Both adults and children can find their own comfort here. In the dining room is a six-person marble long table, modern and fashionable. And it is directly facing the children’s play area. The semicircular hollow design allows you to directly observe the children playing. This design is very considerate. The children’s exclusive play area is a playground hidden in the villa. There is a linked rotating slide, a three-story high-elasticity climbing net, a Lego toy wall, a magic magnet wall, and colorful brand cartoon dolls. Children will not be bored staying here all day. Anmei likes to play with Legos and played by this wall for a long time, researching and innovating at the same time. The living room is equipped with pipes for children to climb and play. This makes children full of fun even in the living room. Anmei crawls back and forth in this pipe repeatedly, very happy. This villa has three rooms and three bathrooms. This is a standard room. At the same time, there is one room with a large bed and one room with a tatami. It can always meet the diverse needs of occupants.
The room decor is also very lively and comfortable, with a lot of Nordic elements, such as moose, geometric patterns, and bright colors that do not jump out. On the second floor, there are two rooms; one is a king-size bed room and the other is a tatami room. This king-size bed room continues the overall style, being lively and bright, youthful and energetic. Each room is equipped with a bathroom; this king-size bed room comes with a shower and bathtub, adopting a dry-wet separation design, and the transparent shower room makes the space seem larger. The tatami room is a duplex, connected to the stargazing attic on the third floor, which has the largest space and maintains the same style as before. Special blue bathrobes are prepared for children here, which are extremely cute. The glass railing of the duplex allows one to see the third floor at a glance, giving a strong sense of space. Following the wooden stairs to the third floor, one discovers a hidden small world here, a place where one can hide their worries, or hide away when feeling unhappy, or a place to relax and temporarily escape the hustle and bustle. The third floor has a telescope, where one can gaze at the sky at night, count stars, and observe constellations. Or simply project a movie to watch together, which is also a very nice and comfortable choice. There are also hidden mechanisms in the corner of the stairs, like a tree hole, where children can crawl in at any time. Entertainment Section: Who doesn’t love small farm animals? Children especially love them. When Anmei is at home, she imitates the sounds of various small animals, and when she really sees these animals, she is overjoyed, chasing after them and imitating their sounds, such as the ‘oink oink’ of pigs, and the ‘baa baa’ of sheep, which is very interesting. This small farm raises pigs, sheep, peacocks, and Angora giant rabbits waiting for you to pet. If you want to have close contact with small animals, this is the right place. The cartoon silicone animal dolls placed in the corner instantly become Anmei’s mounts, whether it’s a small dinosaur, deer, or cat, she takes turns sitting on them one by one. These small pet pigs are the little masters of the small farm, and their figures can be seen everywhere, wandering around, following you for food, which is really cute. Another owner of the small farm is probably the goat, which every time someone approaches, sticks out its little head and shouts ‘Baa～’, trying to ask visitors for food. The pigs and sheep are too enthusiastic, always sniffing towards us with their noses, rooting around, probably thinking we have food here, asking for food. When they see we don’t, they turn and run. Anmei always wants to touch the pig, but she is a bit scared, reaching out to try, and when the pig turns its head, she is scared and hides in my arms.

Here, you can get close to small animals. Most children grow up in cities nowadays and rarely see piglets and lambs. They can only see them outdoors on farms. In the small farm, the bored piglets in the pasture lead a carefree life every day. Probably, their daily pig life is just teasing tourists, running races, and constantly eating and sleeping. It’s extremely comfortable. There are exciting pig races every day where you can participate in guessing. You can place bets. If you guess correctly, there are prizes. The piglets run hard. They haven’t eaten their daily food for nothing. Which piglet will win the championship? Come and cheer for the piglet you pick! They have fixed food, which is conducive to their healthy growth. There are also some other play facilities in the small farm. Anmei likes slides very much. As soon as she sees a slide, her eyes light up and she shouts ‘slide’ and runs towards the slide. She won’t come down until she has played it ten times. Unexpectedly, such a small slide has brought her so much joy. The Four Seasons Cute DIY Workshop will launch DIY classes with different themes: ‘Making animal biscuits, festival-themed handicrafts, traditional seasonal pastries…’ This time, Anmei comes to experience making DIY biscuits. She can make biscuits in her favorite shapes by herself. The staff will also demonstrate and explain the production process on site. This little girl is not afraid of water at all. On the contrary, she is extremely happy and plays until the sun sets and is simply unwilling to leave.
This private beach hidden in the 2,500-mu island scenery of Shanghai has fashionable amusement facilities such as wave pools, rainbow slides, and zorb balls. You can also engage in various entertainment activities such as outdoor beach volleyball at the beach swimming pool. She completely ignores the setting sun and forgets the time and refuses to leave no matter what. This beach swimming pool is very private, surrounded by dense jungles. The inflatable amusement facilities are very suitable for young children. The water is not deep and can satisfy children’s desire for adventure. There are lounge chairs and sun umbrellas for rest by the beach. Taking a short break and basking in the sun are both excellent. There are also slides suitable for older children. Here it is more exciting and fun. Brave children, come and challenge it! There is a beach supply station by the beach, selling drinks, snacks and swimming rings. If you didn’t bring them, you can also buy them here. The colorful swimming rings are really the representative colors of summer. The entertainment center that will be officially opened to the public soon has been experienced by Anmei on behalf of all children. It’s really fun. The amusement project with the theme of a construction site allows children to be little construction workers here. Wear a safety helmet and a yellow vest and start working! Put bricks in the dump truck and transport the bricks to start building a house! Anmei is still a little younger. She wobbles when moving the single-wheel dump truck and can’t control the stability well, but she is working very hard to maintain balance. After moving the bricks well, you can stack bricks to build a house. One by one, it’s just like building blocks. It’s really interesting. There are also various construction site vehicles that can be driven. Anmei takes turns driving excavators and tractors. Today you are the overlord of the construction site! Change from this vehicle to that vehicle. You can drive any vehicle on the construction site.
The most impressive feature here is the remote-controlled excavator, surrounded by numerous control consoles that manage the diggers within the enclosed area, transporting sand. This offers a very realistic experience where children can operate the handles and buttons to move the excavator and dig sand. Although Anmei is still somewhat confused while playing, this activity is truly excellent and worth experiencing. Anmei moves from one control console to another, filled with curiosity about everything. On the other side of the entertainment center, there are bumper cars, a favorite among children. Younger kids can be accompanied by adults, while older children can drive themselves. The speed is very slow, ensuring safety for the children. Each car is a must-ride; the round, small car is particularly cute. Shanghai Sun Island Equestrian Club is another attraction suitable for older children. Although Anmei keeps shouting ‘I want to ride a horse,’ she can only watch from a distance. So, hurry up and grow up, and then come back to learn horse riding! The Shanghai Sun Island Equestrian Club was established in 1997, boasting high-quality facilities, professional horse care, and a skilled coaching team. In 2018, after a comprehensive upgrade, the Sun Island Shanghai Equestrian Club was reborn, with a newly built indoor training area of 30 x 60 meters. The club now has over 60 fine horses and currently features five international standard stables, including a saddle room, horse warm water shower room, horse farrier room, horse medical room, horse infrared therapy area, and saddle-up area, among other horse welfare facilities. Older children can try a horse-riding experience before deciding whether to learn equestrian sports. The coach will lead the horse and take you for a walk, allowing you to feel the sensation of being on horseback. The menu is rich in local dishes; we ordered tender boiled chicken, fragrant and delicious egg yolk tofu, and the rice-accompanying sour soup with beef, as well as snow vegetable shredded meat noodles, all accompanied by a large bowl of white fungus soup. The food was delicious and satisfying. Breakfast can be enjoyed at the Changmao Buffet Restaurant, located on the second floor of the hotel lobby. You can enjoy a beautiful view while tasting a rich breakfast. The breakfast is abundant, combining Chinese and Western styles with a variety of options. Operating hours: 07:00-10:00. Sun Island is truly perfect for a family getaway with children. With its offerings of food, accommodation, and entertainment, children will find endless fun here.
