Worry-Free Forest

Located in Lugu Township, Nantou County, the Worry-Free Forest was originally a cypress forest. However, after the 921 earthquake, it formed a small landslide lake. The once towering and lush cypresses turned into dead wood due to long-term water immersion, unexpectedly creating a wonderland-like spectacle.

Due to its high mountain location, the area is often shrouded in fog, hence the name ‘Mist Forest.’ The landscape is sometimes veiled in mist and sometimes bathed in sunlight. The towering trees and their reflections in the water create a hazy yet beautiful and melancholic scene, earning it the nickname ‘Taiwan’s Jiuzhaigou.’
