The Wushan Macaque Conservation Area is located in Wushan, Nanhua Township, at the junction of Tainan City and Kaohsiung City
This is the only conservation area for Taiwan macaques in Taiwan
Hundreds of macaques are freely roaming in this mountainous area with an altitude of over 700 meters
Due to the development of hiking trails in the area, visitors often bring fruits or peanuts for the macaques to eat, which has made these macaques unafraid of humans
However, tourists are advised to keep their personal belongings secure while walking in the mountains to prevent them from being snatched by the monkeys
The area is open all year round from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; and on Saturdays and Sundays, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
