Xianjiyan Mountain: A Legendary Hiking Destination

Xianjiyan Mountain, also known as ‘Xizikou Mountain’, is situated in the Jingmei area with an elevation of 144 meters. According to legend, Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, once left his footprints here, which has brought great fame to Xianjiyan Mountain. Today, there is an approximately 1.9-kilometer hiking trail built on the mountain, with the entire route being about 3.5 kilometers and taking approximately 2 hours to walk. Starting from the archway on Jingmei Jingxing Road, Lane 243, one ascends through the Longevity Steps, consisting of 78 steps, and the Immortality Slope, with 100 steps, leading to a lush green trail shaded by dense foliage. The trail is lined with verdant vegetation and features multiple rest pavilions for taking breaks or enjoying the view, making the walk never too tiring, especially cool during the summer. The mountain offers excellent views, and from the large rock at the summit known as Xianjiyan and the Xianyan Temple, one can overlook the streets of the Taipei Basin, providing a refreshing and uplifting experience. The mountain is open all year round, with full-day access.
