The Xuwen Coral Reef Nature Reserve is located along the coast of Jiaowei Township and Xilian Town in the west of Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, covering an area of approximately 109 square kilometers.
In 1999, the People’s Government of Xuwen County established a nature reserve to strengthen the protection of coral reef natural resources in this area.
In 2002, it was upgraded to a municipal-level nature reserve with the approval of the People’s Government of Zhanjiang City. According to scientific research and investigation, 49 species of corals in 17 families and 2 orders have been identified and recognized in the Xuwen Coral Reef Nature Reserve. There are still 2 species to be identified. Among them, there are many rare species. Some species are even discovered in China for the first time. Opening hours: open all day throughout the year.
