Yuehu Sculpture Park is situated adjacent to East Sheshan Garden and Happy Valley. The park features a large artificial lake known as Yuehu. It is expansive and boasts a beautiful environment with sculptures of various postures scattered throughout. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of award-winning paintings and sculptures at the Yuehu Art Museum. The park is filled with evergreen fairways and lawns suitable for playing with children and pets, making it a popular pet-friendly destination in Shanghai. Centered around Yuehu Lake, the park displays over sixty sculptures placed along the lake’s edge in a layout inspired by the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, dividing the lake’s shore into four distinct seasonal docks with varied scenery. For those who tire from walking, there are sightseeing cars that circulate every fifteen minutes, stopping at stations along the four seasonal docks. The park also includes restaurants and cafes. Sitting in the cafe with a cup of coffee and enjoying the view is quite pleasant, although the prices are not cheap. The Spring Dock consists of a water curtain bridge, visitor center, stalactite cave, and a water stage where the stalactite cave restroom is particularly interesting, resembling entering a limestone cave with faucets designed to look like stalactites. The Summer Dock features attractions such as a water-friendly sand area, a children’s intelligent activity plaza, and a carnival game area. The artificial beach and shallow water area are ideal for children to play in water and dig in the sand with their own toys. A highlight of the Summer Dock is several large banyan trees, a mix of real and artificial, with viewing platforms on the trees offering a good spot to appreciate the park’s scenery. The Autumn Dock features vast lawns, buildings like the Autumn Moon Restaurant and Yuehu Art Museum. The museum often hosts series of painting exhibitions, art exhibitions, and large-scale car shows, where you can often see award-winning artworks from both domestic and international artists. The Winter Dock boasts a continuous lakeside plank road, beautiful pavilions, and a dazzling and ever-changing musical fountain water dance. The park is open year-round from 09:00 to 17:30; during National Day, the opening hours are extended to 09:00 to 21:30. Concessions are available for the elderly: those 70 years old and above with valid identification receive discounts. Active-duty military personnel, retired cadres, and disabled individuals enter for free with valid identification. Children: those with a height between 70cm (inclusive) and 140cm (exclusive) receive discounts; those under 70cm enter for free.
