【Macau, China】’Radiant Bronzes’ – Fine Bronze Artifacts from the National Museum of China

In 2024, marking the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, the National Museum of China, in collaboration with the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, hosts the ‘Radiant Bronzes’ exhibition. This exhibition showcases the essence of ancient artifacts to promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture, bringing together compatriots nationwide for closer interactions, exchanges, mutual learning, and assistance. Together, we advance the modernization in the Chinese style and share the glory. The National Museum of China possesses a rich collection of ancient bronze artifacts. This exhibition fully leverages the museum’s extensive and diverse collection of bronze artifacts, which spans a long time period, covers various categories, and features a multitude of shapes and a large scale. Organized around the themes of plastic art, decorative patterns, inscription calligraphy, craftsmanship, and patina, the exhibition systematically traces the development of these representative artifacts of Chinese civilization. Through significant pieces such as the Xiangwen Nao, Zuo Ce Ban Yan, Jing Bo You, Liu Nian Diao Sheng Gui, and Shi You Gui, the exhibition opens a window for visitors to understand the early development of Chinese civilization, guiding them to a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of the rich content and significant characteristics of Chinese culture. The exhibition is open from September 7th to November 10th, with specific operating conditions subject to the daily opening status.
