Anlan Bridge in Huzhou is located in the north of Linghu Town, and it is a three-arched circular stone bridge with a length of 58.5 meters, a width of 4.55 meters, and a height of 5.7 meters. There are 33 steps up and down respectively.

In the 43rd year of the Kangxi Emperor’s reign (1704), the monk Songyan from Zhiyuan Temple in Linghu Town initiated the construction of the bridge through fundraising. Three years later, after Songyan’s death, his disciple continued the project by fundraising and building the bridge, which was soon completed. The stone bridge, resembling an initial arch of a rainbow, facilitated the traffic between the west of the lake and Linghu Town. People found it convenient and safer than ferrying, hence the name ‘Anlan’ was given.
