In the 43rd year of the Kangxi Emperor’s reign (1704), the monk Songyan from Zhiyuan Temple in Linghu Town initiated the construction of the bridge through fundraising. Three years later, after Songyan’s death, his disciple continued the project by fundraising and building the bridge, which was soon completed. The stone bridge, resembling an initial arch of a rainbow, facilitated the traffic between the west of the lake and Linghu Town. People found it convenient and safer than ferrying, hence the name ‘Anlan’ was given.

In the 42nd year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign (1777), local residents donated funds to rebuild the bridge into its current stone structure. It still stands tall to this day, serving as an important water and land transportation route in the northwest of the town. The bridge is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
