ChaoYin Pavilion

ChaoYin Pavilion stands tall on the eastern coast of WuYuan Town, with its back to the bustling city and facing the vast Hangzhou Bay. This newly constructed pavilion serves as a leisure spot for both the citizens of Haiyan and tourists from afar. The pavilion is a three-story antique-style building with a simple yet elegant design, featuring a golden roof and exquisite corners. It stands 19 meters high, with a ground floor and an underground level, measuring 12 meters in both width and depth. Each floor is surrounded by railings on all four sides. Ascending to the top, one can look into the distance and take in the surrounding scenery. To the east, the vast ocean with distant sails, undulating mountains, soaring seabirds, and the surging tide can be seen and heard; to the south, one can gaze upon China’s first nuclear power plant – Qinshan Nuclear Power Station; to the west, the city is visible, especially at night with its twinkling lights; and to the north, on a clear day, the ZhePu Port is clearly visible.

Listening to the Tides at ChaoYin Pavilion: The tides of Haiyan County, due to geographical reasons, are not as spectacular as those of Haining’s ‘一线潮’, but during the flood tide, the waves undulate and slowly advance, producing a pleasant sound that is indescribable. It is like the ancient music of beating bianzhong bells from the Warring States period, or like the sound of a guqin playing the tune of ‘High Mountain and Flowing Water’. The more one listens, the more fascinating it becomes. This is truly the sound of nature, and this is what it means to listen to the tides at ChaoYin Pavilion. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
