Beijing East Road

Beijing East Road was first constructed in 1849 and was completed by 1876. Initially known as Consulate Road due to the British consulate located at its eastern end, it was commonly referred to as Hou Da Road. In 1865, it was officially named Beijing Road and renamed Beijing East Road in 1945.
