The Beilun Estuary National Nature Reserve, located within the Fangchenggang City’s Fangcheng District and Dongxing City, covers a total area of thirty square kilometers and primarily focuses on the protection of mangrove ecosystems.

Its unique geographical location features extensive mangroves along the estuary and bay areas, including large contiguous areas of the Chinese mainland’s coastline, pure forests of Avicennia marina, and communities of Acanthus ilicifolius, representing typical bay mangroves and rare large-scale mangroves below average sea level.
