The Beitou Hot Spring Museum, originally constructed as a public bathhouse in 1913, features traditional Japanese wooden architecture, nestled against lush green hills and surrounded by winding paths and flourishing flora. In 1997, it was designated as a historical site and transformed into the Beitou Hot Spring Museum. Upon entering, visitors descend a wooden staircase to the underground first floor, leading to the central hot spring bath. Roman arches encircle the bath, with sunlight streaming through stained glass, casting an exotic ambiance. This area, reserved for male bathers, displays early bathing utensils such as brushes, ladles, and buckets, showcasing its former status as one of the largest hot spring bathhouses in East Asia. The grandeur and magnitude of the site are still palpable, with a size akin to that of a swimming pool. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Accessibility services include wheelchair-accessible entrances and restrooms. Essential tips for visitors include a daily limit of 150 people, with restrictions when the cap is reached, and a requirement to change into slippers upon entry. It is recommended to combine a visit with nearby attractions such as the Geothermal Valley and Beitou Library.
