Blue Bridge

Sinopec’s crude oil terminal is located in the north of Weizhou Island. From the Weizhou passenger terminal, one can overlook this long blue maritime structure, commonly referred to as the ‘Blue Bridge’.

It is an abandoned onshore approach bridge, which is not only a beautiful photography spot but also a popular fishing destination for the islanders.

The Sinopec crude oil terminal was originally built by China Petrochemical Corporation as a terminal for giant oil tankers. Its onshore approach bridge is 2,898 meters long, making it one of the most distant offshore oil terminals in the country.

However, due to approval procedures during the later stages of construction, it has never been put into operation and has now become a beautiful tourist attraction.

It is worth mentioning that this terminal used to be open for visits, but due to accidents where tourists fell into the sea from the bridge, the entrance to the terminal is now gated and closed to the public. Visitors are only allowed to take photos from outside.

Open all year round, the terminal is accessible 24/7.

Important note: This terminal used to be open for visits, but due to accidents where tourists fell into the sea from the bridge, the entrance is now gated and closed to the public. Visitors are only allowed to take photos from outside.
