Cuifeng Lake is currently a forest ecological conservation area. Below an altitude of 1,850 meters of Cuifeng Lake is grassland. The vegetation is mainly juncus. The animals on the lakeshore include mandarin ducks, which are one of the precious bird species. There are also many teals inhabiting and moving around on the north side of Cuifeng Lake, allowing tourists to experience the wonders of nature when they come to Cuifeng Lake. ‘Cuifeng Sunrise’ is a beautiful scenery that cannot be missed for those visiting Taiping Mountain. The lake water is clear and like a mirror, and it has the reputation of ‘Cuifeng Lake Reflection’. Here, national treasure-level rare birds such as Mikado Pheasant (Syrmaticus mikado) and Swinhoe’s Pheasant can be seen. Opening hours: open from 04:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year; open from 06:00 to 20:00 on Mondays to Fridays throughout the year. Controlled opening hours: vehicles are allowed to enter from 4:00 to 12:00; from 12:00 to 16:00, only vehicles coming out are allowed to pass; from 16:00 to 17:00, only those staying at Cuifeng Villa are allowed to enter. Other times, entry is prohibited.
