Daruoyan Scenic Area is located in the middle reaches of the Xiao Nanxi River, covering a total area of 85 square kilometers.
The scenic area is characterized by its waterfalls, peculiar peaks, secluded caves, beautiful waters, and mythical legends. It boasts numerous waterfalls with various shapes and forms; peculiar peaks and rocks full of interest.

Taogong Cave is praised by Taoists as the ‘Twelfth Blessed Land under Heaven’, with its deep and spacious interior, and was once the hermitage of Tao Hongjing, the ‘Prime Minister of the Mountains’ from the Southern Dynasties, who wrote the book ‘True Decree’ here.

The Bai Zhang Waterfall is known for its grand momentum and high drop; Tengxi Waterfall and Pond are naturally formed, renowned for their exquisite beauty; Jiuji Waterfall is unique for its numerous cascades and rhythmic beauty; Yaxia Reservoir is intriguing for its hidden nature, ‘heard but not seen’, which makes it fascinating; The Twelve Peaks are closely packed, rugged and towering, surpassing other peak landscapes.

The main attractions include: Taogong Cave, Jiuji Stone Gate Platform, Bai Zhang Waterfall, Yaxia Reservoir, Twelve Peaks, Tengxi Waterfall Group, Dai Tou Ancient Village, Gao Xu Village, Zui Xi, Zhongxin Keng, Xiaoruoyan Group, Furong Three Cliffs, Phoenix Stockade, and the Xiao Nanxi River and its riverbank beach forests, etc.
