Dayangshan National Forest Park

Dayangshan National Forest Park is located in the west of Suzhou’s ancient city, primarily divided into two scenic areas: Dayangshan Scenic Area and Botanical Garden Scenic Area. Whether you are here to appreciate the natural ecological scenery or to experience religious culture, your needs will be met.

Dayangshan Scenic Area, the eastern part of Dayangshan National Forest Park, was originally built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and has a history of over a thousand years. It is constructed against the mountain rocks with exquisite design, and was known as the ‘Suspended Temple’ in ancient times. Visitors can stroll along the Ming Dynasty ancient path, climb to the Ban Shan Pavilion for a beautiful view, or visit the Wenshu Hall to pray sincerely and feel the profound Buddhist culture.

The Botanical Garden Scenic Area, the western part of Dayangshan National Forest Park, is a professional botanical garden in Suzhou with high ornamental value. It features rare and endangered plants such as Metasequoia, Dalbergia odorifera, and Japanese Podocarpus, as well as more than 400 types of simulated flora and fauna specimens.

Night session starts after 16:30 with preferential policies for children: aged 6 (excluding) to 18 (inclusive), half price; children aged 6 (inclusive) or under 1.4 meters (inclusive) in height enter for free with valid identification. Free for students: full-time undergraduate and below students enjoy half price. Half price for the elderly: aged 60 (inclusive) to 70 (exclusive). Elderly aged 70 (inclusive) and above enter for free with valid documents such as the ‘Elderly Card’ or ID. Free for military personnel: active-duty military personnel with military IDs and retired military officers with retirement certificates enter for free.
