Donghua University (Yan’an Road Campus)

Established in 1951, Donghua University was originally known as East China Textile Institute, and was renamed China Textile University in 1985, then Donghua University in 1999. It is one of the first universities in China to be authorized to confer doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees, and is a member of the ‘211 Project’ higher education institutions. The university currently has two main campuses, located in Changning District and Songjiang University Town, covering an area of nearly 2000 acres. The campuses are known for their beautiful and pleasant environment, and are designated as a Shanghai Garden Unit. In addition to the Changning campus at No. 1882 Yan’an West Road, there is another campus located at No. 2999 Renmin North Road, Songjiang New City. Covering an area of 1500 acres, the Songjiang campus is home to the only national ecological water conservancy scenic spot in the Songjiang University area – Jingyue Lake.
