The statue of Cai Bogong, located on the Fanghuoshan of Miaozihu Island, stands at a height of 22.4 meters and is a symbol of Dongji. Cai Bogong, the first person to come to Dongji Island, was a real person who lit fires on the island to guide fishing boats, leaving a deep impression on people. As you approach Dongji by boat, from a distance you can see a statue on the mountain top, holding a torch in hand; this is Cai Bogong, also known as the ‘Goddess of Liberty’.
