Guanyin Temple is located at the western foot of Donglu Mountain in Lishui and was originally built during the Yuan Dynasty. In 1999, it was rebuilt and renamed Donglu Mountain Guanyin Zen Temple, covering an area of over a thousand square meters.

The original name of Guanyin Zen Temple was ‘Guanyin Nunnery at the Western Foot of Donglu Mountain’, which dates back more than 700 years to the Yuan Dynasty. It was destroyed in the war during the reign of Emperor Xianfeng of the Qing Dynasty. It was reconstructed in the eighth year of Emperor Guangxu’s reign (1882), but later destroyed again. After 1999, it was rebuilt. In 2000, Donglu Mountain Guanyin Temple became a subordinate temple of Jiming Temple, and was approved by the provincial and Nanjing municipal governments as a key construction temple. Buildings such as the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, Yuantong Hall, Drum Tower, Bell Tower, Dining Hall, and Dormitories were constructed.
