On the beaches of Ojiang, the sea breeze and fishing lights carry the leisurely songs of sea farming and fishing; the Baixi River, tranquil and rustic, exudes a rich pastoral charm, gently enveloping the surroundings. At the end, green mountains embrace and clear waters meander. Here lies Dongping, a historical and cultural village known as ‘A Village in Chinese Painting’, which was designated by Zhejiang Province in 2012 as one of the first key villages for the protection and utilization of historical and cultural settlements. Dongping Village, named after the Dongkeng Mountain to the east of the village, resembles a screen, hence the name ‘Dongping’. Within the village, a small stream divides the residences into two parts, with three stone arch bridges above. From the viewpoint on the mountain, one can observe the peculiar sight of the bridge decks appearing taller than the houses beside them, a phenomenon attributed to feng shui. The streets follow the stream upwards, and the houses are built according to the terrain, forming the architectural style of a quadrangle courtyard.

The village is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
