Foding Mountain is located on the north side of Putuo Mountain Island and is the highest peak on Putuo Mountain.
Huiji Temple on the mountain is one of the three major temples on Putuo, with a thriving incense culture, hence there is always a considerable number of visitors coming to Foding Mountain for worship.

On the Xiangyun Road, one can often see devotees who worship every three steps, and pass by the ‘Buddhist Kingdom of the Sea and Sky’ stone carving.

Tourists can walk up the mountain along the Xiangyun Road next to Fayu Temple, which takes about 45 minutes to reach the summit.

Alternatively, for those who prefer less exertion, a cable car is available (one-way 40 yuan, round trip 70 yuan). Walking a short distance further up will lead to the Huiji Temple at the mountaintop.
