The Guan Tianxia Scenic Area is characterized by religious culture and beautiful lakes and mountains. It is located in Yaocun Township in the southwest of Langxi County. This scenic area includes one mountain and two lakes, namely Shifo Mountain, Tianzi Lake, and Hongqi Lake. ‘A Buddha props up the clouds, and stones embrace the temple. Two lakes embrace the moon, and water surrounds the mountains.’ The main peak of Shifo Mountain is 353 meters high. The mountain is steep and surrounded by white clouds. Here, there are numerous grotesque rocks in various shapes, known as the ‘Grand View Garden of Grotesque Rocks in Southern Anhui’. There are many strange rocks such as Propping Cloud Stone, Golden Turtle Stone, Toad-croaking Stone, Seven-Zhang Stone, Sword-testing Stone, Flat Peach Stone, and Moving Stone. The Moving Stone is especially magical. This stone weighs more than thirty tons. It is remarkable that it can be moved easily when pushed initially but won’t move again when pushed further. It is truly a ‘unique wonder in the world’. On the peak is Huiming Temple. The Maitreya Hall, Great Compassion Tower, Mahavira Hall, Ksitigarbha Hall, Heavenly King Hall, and Arhat Hall are magnificent and grand. It is known as the ‘Little Jiuhua’. Tianzi Lake is shaped like the Chinese character ‘天’ (tian) and lies quietly at the foot of Shifo Mountain. The lake surface is clean and beautiful. Occasionally, water birds fly over, adding a touch of tranquility and vitality. Fishing boats return in the evening while the tea island is fragrant. Hongqi Lake is located within Miaoquan Village and Hongqi Village in Yaocun Township. It was built in the winter of 1959. The total storage capacity is 31.8 million cubic meters. It is also the drinking water source for some towns and townships in Xuancheng and Langxi. With mountains and waters relying on each other, the scenery is beautiful.
