Guishan Island

Guishan Island, also known as Guishan Islet, is a landmark of Yilan and the only active volcano still existing in Taiwan, China, named for its resemblance to a sea turtle. Due to its strategic location, Guishan Island has been designated as a military area. The island’s unique geological conditions have created many distinctive and spectacular landscapes, such as the Turtle Mountain Sunrise, Turtle Island Mist, Turtle Egg Wonders, Turtle Rock Cliffs, Turtle with a Hat, Turtle Tail Swing, and the Spectacular Stalactite Caves. Guishan Island is rich in natural resources, topographical landscapes, and coral reefs, and is also popular for whale and dolphin watching activities. Please note that the operating hours are subject to the daily opening conditions. A must-see tip: Before boarding, apply to the Northeast and Yilan Coastal National Scenic Area Management Office.
