Gutang Village is located in the west of Wangjiangjing Town. It is adjacent to Provincial Highway 07 in the east, Tengyun Village in the south, Tianhuadang in the west, and Xiyan Village in the north. The regional area is 2.75 square kilometers, and the paddy field area is 2635 mu. A scenic village featuring ‘Colorful Gutang, Jiangnan Stove Painting’ is constructed. Gutang is built into a scenic village with rural tourism as the industrial orientation and integrating the happy living and working of villagers and the vacation and leisure of citizens from six aspects: ecological protection, industrial cultivation, cultural inheritance, facility improvement, spatial optimization, and environmental improvement. In 2018, it was rated as a provincial-level leisure tourism demonstration village. In June 2019, Gutang Village built a water sports base and actively participated in a series of tourism and sightseeing activities with the theme of ‘Beautiful Wangjiangjing with Lotuses’ in Jiaxing Canal Culture Provincial Tourism Resort. The scenic area has sincerely invited many water sports clubs with certain popularity and influence in Jiaxing to jointly cooperate in development. Combining ‘professional’ sports and ‘sightseeing’ tourism, popular water sports projects such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and water yoga are vigorously promoted and popularized. In the future, the market for leisure sports tourism will also grow larger and larger. The Gutang base will create a water sports development platform with sports cultural connotations and a good foundation for the sports industry.
