The Hai Rui Memorial Garden was initially constructed in the 17th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. Emperor Wanli dispatched Xu Ziwei to Hainan to supervise the construction of the garden, which features a rectangular layout surrounded by stone walls.
Inside the garden, there is a tomb path paved with granite, flanked by stone carvings such as sheep, horses, lions, and turtles. In the middle of the path, there are three stone archways. The tomb of Hai Rui stands approximately 3 meters high with a rounded top, and in front of the tomb, there is a stone stele about 4 meters high.
The garden is open to the public from 8:00 to 22:00 all year round.
