As an emerging cultural brand in the Hainan Special Economic Zone, the Hainan Island International Film Festival aims to achieve the ‘four alls’ – ‘year-round screening, island-wide projection, public viewing, and the entire industry chain’ – to create a ‘never-ending film festival’ that combines professionalism, popularity, and internationalization.
Currently, the Hainan Island International Film Festival has been successfully held for five editions. The sixth edition is scheduled to take place in December 2024. This year’s film festival will include a global call for entries, divided into two main sections: the ‘Golden Coconut Awards’ competition and the screening unit. The festival will be open from December 4th to December 10th.
