The Ethnic Museum is located in the north of Wuzhishan City, and it is one of the larger museums in Hainan. The museum is a quadrangle-style building with ethnic characteristics, simple yet magnificent.
Inside, there are six main exhibition halls and two mobile exhibition halls, as well as an ethnic crafts market and workshops. Each hall displays a variety of cultural relics, ethnic folk items, historical photos, and materials. The Ethnic Museum was opened in 1986. Upon entering the museum, there are several large Li brocade hangings, embroidered with themes of Li people’s marriage, farming, and other life scenes, with black self-dyed cloth as the base, and various geometric patterns embroidered with red, green, and white threads.
The museum is open all year round, closed on Mondays; from Tuesday to Sunday, it is open from 09:00 to 17:30, closed on Mondays (except for national holidays).
