Haitang Square is situated adjacent to the national coastline, facing Wuzhizhou Island across the sea. It is arguably the best free vantage point in Haitang District. Strolling here, one can take in the clear seawater, the layers of waves, and the beautiful seascapes.
The square is not widely known, hence it is not crowded with tourists. From the square, one can descend steps to the beach to feel the softness of the sand, the clarity of the seawater, and the cool breeze on one’s face.
There are long corridors on both sides of the square, with many peculiarly shaped stones placed along them. If you grow tired from walking, you can rest on the benches provided. At the end of the square, there is a viewing platform facing Wuzhizhou Island, offering a direct view across the sea. Visiting Haitang Square for a leisurely walk or to take photographs is highly recommended, and you may also witness numerous couples capturing their wedding photos here. The square is open all year round from 09:00 to 18:00.
