Haitian Buddhist Monastery is the Penghu branch of Fo Guang Shan in Kaohsiung County
It is also a relatively large-scale monastery in Penghu

After the groundbreaking ceremony presided over by Master Hsing Yun in 1983, after four years of construction, it officially opened in June 1987
The main deities enshrined in the monastery are Vairocana Buddha, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha, Ratnasambhava Buddha, and Samkusumitarāja Buddha
The monastery buildings include the Mahavira Hall, the Chanting Hall, the Meditation Hall, the Dining Hall, and the Conference Hall, with a total area of about 23,000 square meters
