Huangyangjian Scenic Area boasts a multitude of cultural landscapes and historical relics. During the Three Kingdoms period, Ge Xuan collected herbs and refined elixirs here, turning it into a famous Taoist mountain. There are still attractions such as Ge Xuan’s Alchemy Cave. Huangyangjian is also the site of the Western Zhou’s Xu City, the Eastern Jin’s Sun En Uprising, and the Tang Dynasty’s Yuan Chao Uprising’s troop encampment sites.

The terrain is strategically important, and it served as a revolutionary base for the East China Sea Guerrilla Force during the Anti-Japanese and Liberation Wars. Abandoned military facilities from the war against Japan can still be found on the mountain. The area is open all year round from 8:00 to 16:00.
