Ji Mountain

Ji Mountain is a principal historical mountain in Shaoxing. Also known as Wangjia Mountain, it originates from the fact that the former residence of Wang Xizhi is located at the foot of the mountain. Ji Mountain Qingtiao is a renowned spot for climbing high and enjoying the view within Shaoxing city. Due to historical reasons, most of the ancient sites in the mountain have been destroyed, and the main structures that have been restored on the mountain now include the Wenbi Tower, Ji Mountain Academy, Ji Mountain Pavilion, Leng Ran Pond, and Leng Ran Pavilion.

Wenbi Tower: Also known as Wangjia Tower, it is the iconic structure of Ji Mountain, standing in a tripartite formation with the Feiyi Tower of Fushan and Yingtian Tower of Ta Mountain, creating a beautiful picture in the sky above the ancient city of Shaoxing. Ji Mountain Academy: Located on the southern slope of Wangjia Tower, the restored scale is only a part of its historical heyday. Ji Mountain Academy was historically famous because the renowned scholar of the Ming Dynasty, Liu Zongzhou, once lectured here, and it was the birthplace of the famous Ji Mountain School, led by Liu Zongzhou and supported by his students Huang Zongxi, Chen Que, Zhang Lixiang, and others.
