Jiepingshan Temple

Jiepingshan Temple is also known as Jieping Zen Temple or Jieping Nunnery. It is a very small nunnery in the Xitian Scenic Area and is very close to the south entrance dock of the ‘Xitian Scenic Area’. ‘Jieping’ probably means it is small but not insignificant. Just as the saying goes, ‘A hair can swallow the vast ocean, and a mustard seed can hold Mount Sumeru’. Entering the mountain gate, there is a courtyard with three sides.

Jiepingshan Temple was built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It was founded by Monk Jimei and later rebuilt by Monk Gutan. At the beginning of liberation, there were only three monks living in it.

Now it has been renovated and is mainly a place for monks and nuns to study Buddhism. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
