Jingtoushan Site

The Jingtoushan Site is located in Sanqishi Town, Yuyao City, Ningbo City. It is close to the Hemudu Site and the Tianluoshan Site. It belongs to the Kuahuqiao cultural type and reveals the development context of the Kuahuqiao culture to the Hemudu culture. Discovered in October 2013, the cultural accumulation mainly contains marine mollusk shells. The burial depth is 5 to 10 meters, and the total area is about 20,000 square meters. The Jingtoushan Site is a shell mound site in the Yangtze River Delta region. It is a typical coastal shell mound site with a relatively deep burial and an earlier age discovered along the Chinese coast so far (8300-7800 years ago), which is 1000 years earlier than the Hemudu culture.
