Jinniu Ridge Park is a place for Haikou citizens to relax and unwind on a daily basis. The park is not large, but it is lush with greenery all year round, featuring many tropical plants and a zoo that houses some wild birds, making it particularly suitable for family outings. The palm garden within the park boasts a complete collection of palm trees, arranged in varying heights, presenting a typical tropical scenery.
The park is mainly divided into two major parts: the tropical botanical garden and the zoo. At the park entrance, which leads directly to Haixiu Avenue, tall and robust palm trees stand in a straight line on both sides of the road. Looking up along the way, one can see a towering and majestic golden bull standing amidst the lush greenery, which is also the symbol of the park.
The park is dotted with various scenic spots, each with its own unique scenery. It includes Jinniu Lake, a comprehensive zoo, a dove garden, butterfly garden, bamboo garden, betel nut garden, jackfruit garden, tropical and subtropical fruit orchard, flower garden, martyrs’ cemetery, and a fitness square, making it a large-scale garden landscape park in Haikou with nine gardens, one lake, and one square. The park is open all year round from 5:00 to 23:00, with specific business hours subject to the daily opening status.
