Jintang Island is the fourth largest island in the Zhoushan Archipelago. It is separated from Zhoushan Island by only a strip of water. The whole island covers an area of 76 square kilometers. In history, Jintang Island was a grain-producing area of Zhoushan. It was the first island among the nearby islands of Zhoushan to be self-sufficient in grain. The specialty of the island, Jintang plum, is famous for its green skin, red flesh, large fruit, small pit, and juicy and delicious taste. The furniture industry on the island is very developed. It is popular in domestic and foreign furniture markets with its exquisite materials, fine workmanship, novel styles, and bright colors.
