Located within Taroko National Park, the Jiuku Cave Tunnel was constructed during the construction of the Central Cross-Island Highway in 1955 through mountain tunneling. Due to the terrain’s incisions, a winding corridor was formed, hence the name Jiuku Cave Tunnel. The tunnel spans 1,220 meters in length and is considered a major spectacle along the Central Cross-Island Highway. It is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
