The Jun Tao Art Museum was established by the Tongxiang Municipal Government to express gratitude to the renowned contemporary calligrapher, painter, and seal carver, Mr. Qian Juntao, who is also the vice president of the Xiling Seal Society, for his patriotic and hometown-loving passion. It was officially opened in 1987.

The museum houses a collection of calligraphy, painting, and seals donated by Mr. Qian Juntao, including works from the Ming and Qing dynasties and modern masters, which are considered cultural treasures.
The museum is particularly famous for its collection of seals by Zhao Zhiqian, Wu Changshuo, Huang Mufu, and others, making it the richest in the country and earning it the reputation of being a ‘shining pearl of art in the Yangtze River Delta’.
The museum grounds are lush with green grass and thriving trees. A half-statue of Mr. Qian Juntao is nestled among the greenery, with a naturally formed Taihu stone behind it. The corresponding building is simple yet elegant, with distinctive features that closely combine traditional Chinese axial and courtyard architecture, reflecting both traditional style and local characteristics as well as the spirit of the times.
The exhibition hall is divided into two levels, with the upper hall dedicated to displaying Mr. Qian Juntao’s fine works of calligraphy, painting, and seal carving; the lower hall is available for various art, calligraphy, and photography exhibitions, and also includes an art service department. In addition, there are lecture halls, a restaurant, and four sets of high-grade guest rooms. The museum is open all year round from 08:30 to 17:15.
