The Lingqiao Bridge spans the Fenghua River at the boundary between Haishu District and Yinzhou District in Ningbo City. It is commonly known as the Lao Jiangqiao. Originally, it was a floating bridge composed of connected ship rafts. It is an ancient large-span floating bridge in Ningbo. Due to its location in a busy downtown area, it has been prosperous throughout the ages. Although it has been repaired and damaged repeatedly, it has been rebuilt repeatedly. By the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, someone proposed to reconstruct it. In 1936, with the financial support of the Ningbo Fellow Townsmen Association in Shanghai, the Lingqiao Bridge constructed by Siemens AG of Germany was officially completed. The designed service life is 70 years. It has become one of the representative modern and contemporary buildings in Ningbo. Open all year round and open all day.
