The new building of Linhai City Museum is located at No. 288, Linhai Avenue West, covering an area of 28.6 mu, with a construction area of 21,212.39 square meters and a total investment of 169 million yuan. The museum houses over 30,000 pieces of cultural relics and 20,000 ancient books, making it one of the museums with the most collections in the Taizhou museum community and a second-level risk unit for cultural relics and museums in Taizhou.

It is a comprehensive museum that integrates collection, research, exhibition, public education, and cultural exchange. The permanent exhibitions include the History Hall, Pterosaur Hall, and Folklore Hall. The first floor serves as a temporary exhibition hall, featuring a variety of temporary (special) exhibitions to meet the growing scientific, cultural, and artistic pursuits of the citizens. Currently, the two temporary exhibition halls present ‘The Fragrance of Danhan – Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting from the Collection of Linhai City Museum’ and ‘The Path of Handcraft, Ordinary into Poetry – Linhai Hundred Crafts Exhibition’.
The second floor is the History Hall ‘Lingxiu Ancient City·Zhoufu Charm’, composed of six units: Ou Land Spring and Autumn, Ancient Port and Famous County, Santai Metropolis, Politically Smooth and Prosperous Business, Broad Sea and High Waves, and Meeting of the Times; The third floor is the Natural Hall·Pterosaur Hall ‘Flying in the Cretaceous Sky’, through which visitors can understand the status of pterosaurs in the history of Earth’s life by looking at the sky of the Linhai Pterosaur era; The fourth floor is the Folklore Hall ‘Memories with Time’, where the enduring memories of people from different regions of Linhai are presented here.
Opening hours: The museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; it is open from 09:00 to 16:30 on Tuesdays to Sundays, except for Mondays (except for legal holidays and special circumstances), and is closed all day from Lunar New Year’s Eve to the third day of the Lunar New Year.
Museum visit tips: 1. Drunkards, improperly dressed individuals, pet owners, and those with uncivilized behavior are not allowed to enter the museum. 2. It is strictly forbidden to bring flammable, explosive, and controlled weapons into the museum. 3. Please take care of your personal belongings during the visit. No photography is allowed in the exhibition halls; do not use flash when taking photos. 4. Please do not make loud noises during the visit and it is recommended to set your mobile phone to silent mode to avoid disturbing others. Please take care of and use public facilities correctly, do not touch cultural relics and exhibits. 5. Please consciously maintain environmental hygiene, do not litter, and do not smoke inside the museum. Please comply with the visiting order, do not make loud noises or run around. In case of emergencies, please follow the instructions of the staff.
